New Individual and Group Meditation Sessions in Mortain
Who is this retreat for?
Our singing and meditation retreats in Normandy, France are for anyone who wants to slow down, connect, and experience the joy of singing. We welcome everyone — whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced singer.
I’m travelling solo — is that okay?
Absolutely! Many of our guests travel alone and tell us how safe and welcome they feel. It’s a warm, friendly space where solo travellers quickly feel part of the group and often leave with new friendships.
Do I need any singing experience?
No! You don’t need to read music or have sung in a choir before. Everything is taught by ear — our focus is on singing from the heart, not perfection.
What kind of songs will we sing?
We sing a mix of uplifting songs, chants, mantras, folk, pop, and world music. It’s all simple, soulful, and easy to join in with — no sheet music needed.
How many people will be there?
We keep our retreats small and we also invite a few of our regular local singers and meditators to join us for some day/non-residential sessions. It’s the perfect size for making connections and feeling supported.
Is this good for solo female travellers?
Yes! Many solo women join us each year and feel completely at ease. Safety, warmth and a supportive atmosphere are really important to us.
What’s included?
Your retreat includes your accommodation, full board, daily singing and meditation sessions to support the voice and relaxation, delicious home-cooked meals, and time to rest and explore the beautiful Normandy countryside.
Can you cater for vegetarian or special diets?
Yes — our cooking is mainly vegetarian and plant based, using delicious local and home grown products where possible. We’re happy to cater for vegetarian, vegan and other dietary needs. Just let us know in advance so we can discuss your requirements with you.
Is there free time to relax?
Plenty! There’s time each day to rest, walk in the surrounding countryside, read or nap. Many guests say the gentle pace is one of the best things about the week.
What should I pack?
Bring comfy clothes for singing and if you want to walk in the surrounding countryside, plus layers for Normandy’s ever-changing weather.
How do I get there?
